  Staff is friendly and personable. Including owner Dan. He is great! All food is made from scratch. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! THEY ARE COOKIN' HERE...COOK-ING!! We had the ribs(smoked for 7 hrs) with homemade BBQ sauce. Wonderful! Clean off the bone. CLEAN! Sauce was very, very, tasty! Next time we're going to try the spicy. We also had the steamed veggies in butter sauce topped w cheese. Yum! Homemade bread! County Fair Fries!! The lasagna rolls (each one rolled individually) oh my this was soo GOOD!! Then to top it off, the best, THE BEST cheesecake I have ever had. I've had The Cheesecake Factory more than once, and Maggianno's. Kelsey makes it the night before. THE BEST. Please, DO NOT let the name or the small building steer you away. This place is a GREAT place to relax, have a great meal, with great portions and great service. A DIAMOND NEEDLE in a haystack!

  When I first started going to the Ugly Duck back in 2010, it was a poorly lit bar with an awful interior. Over the years there have been many improvements in both lighting and interior decoration, but the place really needs a thorough and proper floor to ceiling renovation. The menu is richly spiced with robust flavors. Mostly Italian, there are also some American-style south of the border foods like tacos and chili. The pizza is one of the best I have ever had anywhere in the world and the ribs are the absolute best I have ever had.
